I wanted to take the time to recognize my nurse Sindy who is just the epitome of the type of nurse every patient hopes to have assigned as their caregiver. With a smile on her face from my initial arrival on the floor, to the end of shift, Sindy projects that friendly ‘everything is going to be okay’ attitude. Like, ‘I have your back and nothing is going to happen to you on my watch.’ I’ve watched her during the day and have seen how many of her colleagues have tapped her for the knowledge she has when it comes to a procedure for the newer nurses. With this type of rapport, Sindy is the perfect RN to be familiarizing all new nurses. If any of those nurses emulate even half of what she has taught them, you will have some of the best new nurses at Holy Name - probably even NJ as a whole. I know she has made my day one of the best I could have had by taking care of my cancer pain all day and keeping me comfortable.
