Brande started leaving my door cracked so I could see her and would always wave to me as she checked on other patients.
Brande Burns was my RN at Hillcrest Pryor Hospital for a week. During that time she encouraged me each day with what I needed to do to help get me well enough to go home. She gave me messages from my family daily because I was just too weak to talk to them. She went on her own to get me food that I told her I would eat. She also went to ER on her own and requested the help of a nurse she knew could find a vein to re-insert my IV that had popped out and no one was able to hook back up. She also asked my husband on the phone about my anxiety and started leaving my door cracked so I could see her and would always wave to me as she checked on other patients. I was able to see her constantly helping the other nurses or staff and giving attention to other patients just as she did me. I felt like I could trust her and was completely comfortable when she was on duty…when I saw her my anxiety was not an issue. She made me feel as if I was her family that she was caring for. Since visitors were not allowed, she turned my bed towards the window when my mother and sister came to look into window and actually helped me to talk to them momentarily on the phone. She is an amazing nurse and an even more amazing person… she is my hero. The day I was released my husband and I immediately ordered flowers to be delivered to my HERO. This hospital is lucky to have her and her patients are blessed. .
