There were numerous instances where Rachel showed empathy and extraordinary care.
Rachel went above and beyond for my father and family. My father was admitted for an intraparenchymal hemorrhage (IPH) bleed after he had a fall. From a physician's perspective, the care Rachel provided was extraordinary. She exceeded our expectations and became part of our family. My dad was a “hard stick” and cannot tolerate being pricked. She was very gentle when establishing the IV line. She made sure he was comfortable and at ease. There were numerous instances where she showed empathy and extraordinary care. My dad refused food and even though he was no longer NPO she made sure that after the bedside speech/swallow evaluation, she, herself provided him with fruits. She respected his dietary restrictions and even adjusted his diet to his religious beliefs. Rachel was awesome. My father needed some fresh air, and she took him outside in a wheelchair so he could get fresh air, sunlight, and vitamin D. Given the circumstances with COVID-19, we as a family really appreciate all the care she provided as well as the whole team in the ICU. Please convey our love and regards to them, especially Rachel.
