I knew having my first baby was going to be difficult. I was as prepared as I could be and also very ready to meet my baby boy. The labor did not go as planned. I struggled with induction for a day and a half. I’ve never felt pain like this before. Luckily I had nurse Jess by my side assuring me that I could keep pushing on. As soon as I became 9cm dilated the real work began. With hardly any energy left, I pushed as long and hard as I could. I was in so much distress but Jess never left my side. Her calmness and care helped me feel so much more at ease despite what I was going through. After 4 long hours of pushing I couldn’t take the pain anymore. I tried my hardest but opted for a C-section to try and get my baby boy out safely. Luckily the amazing staff and team at Ridgecrest Regional got J out of me safely. I was so happy and excited to meet him as soon as I was able. He’s my little miracle blessing. Jess had continued to tend to J after birth and she truly puts a smile on my face. She is extraordinary and she helped me get through one of the toughest times in my life. I am forever grateful to her and only want to wish her the best. In addition, the staff here all around are an incredible set of people I feel confident that I’m in the best hands with my future babies.
