Cody always goes above and beyond to help his patients and co-workers. Whether you are a patient care technician, janitor, nurse, physician, etc., Cody will go out of his way to help in any way he can. Today, Cody had a patient who was hard of hearing and who did not speak English. When language services were unable to help the patient due to her hearing issues, he was quick to think of an alternative. Cody began writing in large font to communicate with the patient. Even though the patient could not speak English, you could tell she felt comfortable around Cody. He made a stressful hospital experience for this patient an experience filled with care and compassion. She even gave him a book at the end of her visit as a token of gratitude!

While this moment was particularly special and heart-warming, it is one of many examples of how Cody is an amazing nurse. He takes on challenges that many would not with a smile on his face, while simultaneously making a difference in people's lives. Cody is a friend to all in the Piedmont Athens Emergency Department. He is a mentor, a helping hand, and always can make you smile! He is a true DAISY Nurse.
