I really had to take a few breaths before I was able to speak on this special Individual, Nurse Tracy E. She was our L&D Nurse when I was admitted after receiving the tough news that our 30-week-old daughter was going to be born stillborn. I can't imagine any nurse coming into their morning shift and having to support any family on the birth of their baby that has gone on to Heaven. It must not be easy preparing yourself to be there for a family that has received the most devastating news of their lives. But Nurse Tracy was there during the whole process for my husband and me. Every time I turned around I felt her warm hand on our shoulders. She even helped me pick out our daughter's little quilted dress and hat that was given to us from the hospital. She went from being our special moment photographer to even helping us create some small memorabilia items. All of the sentimental gestures we could have imagined Nurse Tracy succeeded at before we had to say our final goodbyes. The one very moment that Nurse Tracy offered but most people wouldn't see as quite special but she actually called and held our door open so that we could hear the lullaby play that all newborns receive once they're born, this moment will always be instilled in my heart. But that wasn't going to be the only time Nurse Tracy was going to come into our lives.

In February our rainbow baby, A, was born at Baptist South at 37 weeks due to a very high-risk pregnancy. After becoming septic just a short few hours after giving birth to our rainbow baby just a year later, I woke up to that warm hand again on my shoulder while in the ICU and a sweet whisper telling me 'Don't worry, you just get better, I'm taking good care of your little blessing'. Nurse Tracy was here again supporting and caring for us. Nurse Tracy would come and visit me during her lunch breaks while I was on the 4th Floor. Nurse Tracy came to see me almost every other day to give me baby reports and uplift my spirits to help me get better. I was in the hospital for a whole month, Nurse Tracy was there for me when she saw that I was down. When I knew my baby boy was going to be discharged home before me, she made me laugh and see things for the best and only motivated me that I was going to get better and be home with him in no time.

You may hear every now and then that some angels walk this earth with us and I definitely can shout from the mountain tops that Nurse Tracy has and will always be our very own angel that we were allowed to cross paths with and will forever be in our lives. There are not a million Thank You’s I can ever give Nurse Tracy for the dedication and strength that she has given me, our babies, and our family. We love you, Nurse Tracy.
