My husband and I came to New Jersey to be there with our dear friend who had a TAVR. She experienced major complications and was transferred to the CVICU. We had the extreme privilege of having Katie as her nurse for two days. I cannot say enough about her. She went above and beyond to advocate for my dear friend and her needs. She faithfully checked on me and my husband to make sure we were doing okay. I truly believe Katie was our angel sent from God to navigate my friend’s care. When we were frustrated with certain things, Katie took the lead and ensured things were taken care of. When we knew that my friend was not going to get better and they would have to remove the breathing tube, Katie took the time to explain how everything would happen and to explain what my friend would experience. She took the time to work it out so that the three people who were closest to my friend could be present with her. Katie is very deserving of recognition for going the extra mile.
