During the evening, things began to change for my wife. Ashley had seen my wife earlier that day. In the course of the night I spoke with Ashley twice on the phone and she came back to the house at 11 p.m., assessed my wife, and helped our family better understand what could happen during the night. When we called her just after my wife passed, she immediately offered her sympathy and came directly to the house. Her handling of the ‘business’ enabled us to simply sit with my wife a while longer. When we made the decision to utilize HSHS we chose them because of their association with St. Anthony’s. It was during further research we learned HSHS operates based on the Franciscan values, practicing in the likeness of Saints Francis and Clair. It is a practice in the care we admire. Learning this made us even more confident we made the right choice in selecting HSHS.
