Meghan listened to our concerns and what seemed to be thousands of questions.
In September, my fiancé gave birth to our first-born baby boy. Our birth plan didn't go as planned, but everything went very well. As new parents we were shook by the late change of plans and also concerned on how to care for our son as new parents. Sleep was lacking, emotions were high, and we lacked the confidence we needed.

Meghan listened to our concerns and what seemed to be thousands of questions. She took the time to listen to everyone and addressed all of our doubts. She recommended different breastfeeding pillows that were significantly better than the one we received at our baby shower and showed her different techniques to feed our boy. She scheduled meetings with doctors for review, made sure momma was well fed and hydrated, and her physical and mental health was taken care of.

She shared her personal experiences that were very similar to our situation. Meghan explained the changes my fiancés body would be going through post pregnancy, things we did not know about even with all our research. She explained how she would have night sweats as the body releases fluid to reduce swelling and almost as if Meghan could predict the future during our next nap cycle her body was sweating. We left the post-unit with our heads held high, a renewed sense of self, and tools to be successful.

While all the nurses in the unit are absolutely amazing we yearned for Meghan's shift to start, even if it was the graveyard shift. We still talk about her daily and feel she made a genuine connection with both of us. Baby and momma are doing exceptionally well, and we look forward to meeting Meghan again when we have our 2nd child. Thank you, Meghan!
