I cannot express how grateful I am for Jocelyn's compassion and extraordinary care she gave me while recovering from surgery. I had the privilege of having Jocelyn as my nurse multiple times, but in my last encounter with her, she went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable, safe, and as pain-free as possible.

Jocelyn’s shift was ending right when I came out of surgery and another nurse was going to take over my care. I felt safe and comfortable with Jocelyn and she ended up asking her supervisor if she could remain on shift until I was discharged from the PACU. Jocelyn never left my side that day working overtime to ensure I had the best possible care until I was discharged. Jocelyn went above and beyond, making my well-being her primary focus, talking me through the pain, providing emotional support, listening to my concerns, and overall being an advocate for me in a vulnerable time and I truly cannot thank her enough.

As I currently study to obtain my degree in nursing, I hope someday I can be half of the nurse Jocelyn is. She showed me what true compassion is, how to be an advocate for patients in their most vulnerable times, and overall how to be an extraordinary nurse. This is the kind of nurse I strive to be someday, and I will never forget the positive impact that Jocelyn made on my recovery and my future in nursing. The world needs more nurses like Jocelyn.
