My wife and I had our third child and Amanda was absolutely amazing, a real shining star. Every time she came into our room she was positive and had a great attitude, you could tell she loved what she did. She was caring and compassionate, she explained what she was doing and always made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. She answered our questions or concerns with a well-informed answer. It had been a long night and our newborn was really fussy on the second day. My wife was really anxious and upset, when Amanda came into the room she immediately sat on the bed and completely calmed my wife down and then took our baby and immediately calmed him down. She showed us different ways we could calm him and things my wife could do to remain calm. Her concern for my wife and newborn was genuine and she completely diffused a worsening situation. Every time she came into our room we were happy to see her and knew we were getting the best care and attention anyone, at any facility, could offer. Do not get me wrong, we received excellent care from all the other nurses, but Amanda’s care was superior to any my wife, my newborn, or I had ever received. If anyone deserves an award for excellent care above and beyond what is required it is Amanda.
