DeAmbra is an exceptionally kindhearted nurse whom I felt lucky to have worked with. As a new nurse working on a busy floor, she consistently checked in on me for over a year. DeAmbra went out of her way to help me and other new grads get our feet on the ground during chaotic moments, by passing meds, assisting patients, troubleshooting IVs, answering call lights, and helping in cleaning wounds. Her calm and lighthearted presence helped me gain confidence during stressful moments and acted as a role model for how to be a nurse. Through DeAmbra’s actions, I felt supported and encouraged to ask for help when I needed it and draw on the collective knowledge of other nurses.

On more than one occasion she took time to listen to my thoughts on a patient's status and troubleshoot the best steps to take. She was always compassionate and understanding with patients by encouraging questions, checking in on their feelings, explaining procedures, and creating a warm environment. DeAmbra is an exceptional nurse who has gone above and beyond in making me feel welcome; I feel honored to have had her as a coworker and role model throughout my first year as a nurse.
