Heather Bankston has been a huge blessing to the nurses, physicians, and hospital care teams. She assisted with family phone calls, increasing unit morale, providing meals, and helping be a go-getter when items were needed or requested. Heather helped coordinate the local meal train to feed employees while they were working during the height of COVID. In January 2,840 meals were donated to the CCU alone. An additional 4,028 meals donated to the remainder of the units and departments throughout the hospital. Heather is the visionary who got it all started! She is an amazing advocate for her team, and hospital, and a true DAISY Nurse. When other hospitals in town saw what Heather was doing, they asked us to set up meal trains for them as well. The support that local restaurants received as a result of this effort was an added blessing. As, everyone was encouraged to order meals from local restaurants to help support them as well, during a time when they were struggling.
