Pam has always made it a point to connect with P on a personal and friendly level. She and P have a special bond, as if he was her very own son.
After so many years of outstanding service to my son P, I am finally, officially thanking R.N. Pamela. P had a brain bleed 10 yrs ago at the young age of 15. He is 25 yrs old now. We are grateful to God, to still have P with us. His injury affected his mobility. He uses a wheelchair now. To relax the tension in his body, he was implanted with a Baclofen pump. The pump has to be monitored and refilled by a specialized nurse...that is when Mrs. Barclay came into our lives. From the very beginning, we knew that P would be in good hands. Her professionalism and bedside manner put us at ease. Unlike most nurses who have limited time to perform their duties, then leave...Pam has always made it a point to connect with P on a personal and friendly level. She and P have a special bond, as if he was her very own son. She knows his favorite sports teams, hobbies, and interests. Mrs. Barclay makes a special effort to check in on P from time to time with a phone call or text to see how he is doing and what's new with him.

About a year or two ago, upon our request, the dosage to his Baclofen pump was changed. P did not respond well. He was rushed to the E.R. for this purpose. The doctors at the E.R. had to contact his pain management doctor, which was almost impossible. After finally getting hold of him, P was in his office the next morning to change the dosage back to the original setting. Through all of this happening, Mrs. Barclay was in constant communication with us. She was also on the line trying to help locate P's doctor, late into the evening and early the next morning. Although this event was nerve-racking for P and me, she kept us calm and reassured us that everything would be fine. Since this event, Mrs. Barclay is very overprotective of P and is always available to speak with P, about future changes to his dosages and the risks involved. Which she did do... Ultimately it is our choice as to what is done with P and she was respecting our wishes in the beginning. It's not like that anymore! And for good reason! We are blessed to have her providing care for P and consider her part of our family. Thank you, Pam! We love you!
