Instead of just taking no at face value Ka'Lesha was able to come up with a solution to help her patient stay compliant.
She gave compassionate care to one of her patients. The patient didn't want to take her psychiatric medications. She dug a little deeper and found out the patient did not want to take the medication because it was the "purple pill". Knowing that she had consent to give this medication she thought outside of the box. She decide to split the dose into two pills that would equal the same dose, The lower dose pills weren't purple, and the patient was willing to take the medication. Medication compliance is an issue most psychiatric patients deal with. Instead of just taking no at face value she was able to come up with a solution to help her patient stay compliant. She owned the situation and definitely kept her patient safe by ensuring she took her medications.
