I am a healthcare executive in long-term care and employ many nurses in different/many capacities and understand the many nuances and sacrifices that nurses do. I appreciate the sacrifices that they have made and truly been the unsung heroes at the frontlines and at the forefront of this unfortunate pandemic. I understand the sacrifices and further understand how tasking this profession can be.

My daughter was struck by a car and flew 70 feet. She had numerous injuries including multiple fractures to her skull. It was truly a touch-and-go situation. As strong as one is, everything just collapses when it's your child. As mom and dad watched on the sidelines, we were somewhat relieved that the JSUMC team was there. That first night, the most crucial one, Kevin was the nurse that we were most awed by, the care and professionalism were truly one of a kind. He was the “conductor” of all that was happening in real-time. Monitoring and adjusting the meds saved our daughter’s life. Kevin brought comfort and resilience to us. We felt that we/our daughter was in the hands of an “Angel” and for that, we will forever be grateful!
