Stacie’s ability to direct any conversation to be patient-focused and supportive of the team demonstrates her innate ability to hone-in on “the right thing”.
Since the beginning of my role with the Critical Care Division 2 years ago, Stacie and I have formed a unique bond. This connection was established through conversations, agreements, and disagreements which were followed by more conversation. Through these conversations, we have come to a shared understanding that is built on a passion for our teams, true dedication to excellence in clinical care, and the belief in supportive and ethical leadership. Excellence in leadership means different things to different people, to me it embodies the ability to share accountability, develop not only yourself but also your team as well as demonstrate an ongoing dedication to IFMC, the Inova Health System, and the community. The work that Stacie does day in and day out is not just outstanding, it is mesmerizing! During our discussions, Stacie’s ability to direct any conversation to be patient-focused and supportive of the team demonstrates her innate ability to hone-in on “the right thing”. This I believe is indicative of her character. Stacie also does not hold back from helping others by providing supportive guidance or direction to ensure that all of the leaders within the Critical Care Division are not only successful but thriving.

I would love to share a couple of examples of Stacie role modeling extraordinary behaviors which create an environment of trust. Concurrently, through these examples you will see how she motivates staff and promotes a professional image of nursing within the organization. • Stacie continues to have nurses on her unit become Stroke certified. 6 RNs became SCRNs following the last session. • Stacie has had 4 nurses receive DAISY Award for exceptional patient care on her unit since 2019 • Stacie presented a poster for the AANN regarding certification during the pandemic • Stacie focuses on the plan for new graduates to ensure that they feel supported and are successful on the unit • Stacie provides key guidance to new leaders and has provided key insights to me and other members of the nursing leadership team on several occasions • Stacie’s key focus is always the patients and her team. I am so thankful for Stacie’s ability to always lead with an open mind and to seek feedback. By allowing herself and her team to continually grow and develop, she is leading this organization in a positive direction. Thank you Stacie, you are a true DAISY Nurse Leader.
