During the uncertain time of my grandmother’s stay at Lawnwood, Silvana displayed endless care, compassion, empathy, and joy. Although she was wearing two masks, we could always tell she entered the room with a smile. Any time my grandmother or myself called, she was there in a timely manner and would always respond to any questions, concerns, or requests we had. As a fellow nurse for another HCA facility, I understand the magnitude of this award. I would love to see Silvana obtain this prestigious award for her never-ending compassion for nursing and her patients. Silvana displays excellence in leadership as every CNA, RN, PA, and Physician we encountered ALWAYS had wonderful words of admiration. Silvana’s willingness to care for my grandmother as if she was caring for her own will forever be cherished by myself and my grandmother. No matter the time of day, or what may have happened in the room next door, Silvana always greeted us with a smile and gave us her undivided attention. Her attitude exemplifies dedication, passion, and diligence.

As Silvana tirelessly served my grandmother, she also served me and my family. She always put my grandmother’s needs and concerns before her tasks or rounding duties. As my grandmother was very dependent on others while she was awaiting surgery, Silvana was at my grandmother’s bedside even if it were a small task. I greatly appreciate Silvana’s diligence and management of my grandmother’s foley catheter, as a urinary tract infection would have caused even more problems to our already extensive list of diagnoses. Silvana is a true DAISY Nurse.
