Miriam was recognized by several families for her amazing spirit with children and efforts to go above and beyond the call of duty to serve her patients and their families.

Her nomination from one mother read: ‘Miriam did everything for my son and more. She connected with him better than any nurse we've had. She helped him be at ease and gave him laughter. She even had a pillow fight with him. Every time she was in the room it was clear that she loved her job. You would never know if she was tired, stressed, or having a bad day. She has an amazing spirit for children.’

Another parent said: 'Miriam went above and beyond to try to get A's pain under control. She also stayed late both days to help A. The first night she went and got her home meds approved after her shift. The second night she took her to CT after her shift so her imaging wouldn't be delayed because of shift change.'
