I have been in 2 STAT team calls recently with Bryce and have been impressed with his attention to the patient and his caring manner at the bedside. The most remarkable incident was the STAT team called for a bleeding, morbidly obese patient. During the entire interaction with the patient, who was in critical condition, he was calm, held her hand through procedures, was knowledgeable about what was needed, and he spoke to the patient throughout. It was quite amazing to watch his compassion with the patient. His ability to keep her focused allowed the PAs and RNs responding to complete their tasks quickly because he was there for the patient’s emotional support. He was even engaging the patient while we were moving her in the elevator to the ICU. He is a sensitive caregiver, establishing a connection with his patients.
