We would like to say thank you to Ms. V for all of her assistance on the last day of my father’s stay. It was so many people I could name, but my father last night was kind of rough and she came in and made him smile throughout the day. She explained everything in detail. How to change the dressing, which foods to eat that will help with digestion, she went over the paperwork in detail, highlighting all the important points. She added extra instructions on at-home care. I can’t say enough about how detail-oriented and personable she is. She made my father’s day! Thank you so much, Ms. V! Much continued success in your nursing journey!

I recently had a stay at retreat hospital for two nights due to a surgical procedure. I had numerous nurses during my stay because of shift changes, but two of them in particular really made an impact on me; therefore, this is the reason for my email. The first one I want to recognize is a nurse everyone called “V” which is short for Valencia. She and I immediately made a connection with her awesome sense of humor and we also shared family stories, including some painful ones. Her honest approach made her very “real” and it put me at ease in the otherwise already uncomfortable situation of having to be in the hospital. I can’t thank her enough for putting up with me and taking such great care of me! All nurses are little “gifts from God” in the never ending relentless care they give their patients. They ALL need huge raises, quarterly bonuses, and they should be recognized each and every day…not just on special occasions. Hugs to both of these nurses from me and I hope you all realize how special you are to have them be a part of your hospital community!!! My experience at Retreat Hospital was amazing! Thanks to all of you that took such great care of me.
