I was sent to the ICU following two separate surgeries. While I was in the ICU, Nurse Missy took care of me overnight for a few of the nights that I was there. I can never express to you how much I appreciate the excellent care she gave me even though I know I was difficult at times. After anesthesia, I tend to easily be confused and have a hard time remembering things for a few days after. If you add in the fact that I didn't know what was going on or why I was still intubated, I know I was not the best or easiest patient to deal with. Missy was extremely caring. She would check on me frequently and sit and talk with me anytime I needed someone. Since my sleep schedule had been messed up, I was awake for a good part of the night when she was at work, and she would come into my room and chat so that I felt comfortable. I never felt like she was rushed or that I was bothering her at all. She treated me like a long-lost friend, and I know that she shows her other patients this same care because it came so easy for her. She is the best nurse I have ever had. She was attentive and never let me suffer unnecessarily.
