Ashlyn Pounders RN was having a super busy night when a patient in IDU, a 76-year-old Covid positive patient, became terrified of the BiPAP. Despite all the medications made available to him, he could not seem to get calmed down enough to tolerate the BiPAP at all. His being able to tolerate the BiPAP was the difference in whether or not he might have to be intubated. This could have been detrimental to his prognosis. After everything we could do, Ashlyn made time in her busy schedule to go in and sit by his bedside and hold his hand. This kindness and compassion made a difference and got him through the night. She's the kind of nurse that we need more of, a true DAISY Nurse!
