Cristal has worked a number of years as an RN here at RSH. In fact, improving herself is a trademark for Cristal, which sets an excellent example for the other staff members on SJU. Cristal is currently studying to become a Nurse Practitioner. Cristal uses her excellent language skills to talk to patients in their preferred language, which improves effective communication on our ward. Recurrent patients are encouraged to take their meds when in need to take the medication. Cristal has worked with patients reluctant to shower, by taking the time to explain the positive benefits of hygiene. Cristal will take extra effort to help a patient to understand why a LAB is necessary. Cristal is a great team player. She helps her fellow RNs by going to a ward by being "pulled." Cristal will volunteer for the House Supervisor position, like on Thanksgiving Day this year, to allow others to be with their families.
