Taking a child in for surgery is tough for a parent. However, we pay close attention to our son as things are a little more challenging. He is mostly non-verbal and we really pay close attention to every expression to see how he is feeling. When Shannon entered the room to greet us my son immediately lit up! They became fast friends and were bumping fists. We felt a huge relief knowing Nurse Shannon would be there with our son. Shannon would be there when we could not. Shannon said that he would be by our son's side and we knew he would be. Before Shannon took our son into surgery we took a quick photo. This nurse flashed 2 thumbs up and our son did the same. I feared our son would not go with a stranger that morning and I am thankful God brought Shannon to make us feel better.
