Stephanie made me feel safe and protected and just warm and fuzzy inside.
Stephanie was my nurse each night I was in the mother/baby unit. She was the first nurse I had in that unit and that first night was really rough on me. She made sure I took my meds and had water. She helped me sit up/roll over when I needed to take my drugs. The most important thing she did was make me feel safe. She made me feel like the scary part was over and I’m a mother now and everything will be ok. She made me feel comfortable and was so freaking nice. Even though it’s completely not her job, she got a blanket for my husband who was sleeping in the chair. She made me feel safe and protected and just warm and fuzzy inside.

She’s also really good with blood draws. I have notoriously horrible veins. She got the vein on the first try in the dark. She was also my advocate and did a second blood draw to check my hemoglobin because she had a suspicion it was still low. It was very low and I was given blood. I’m pretty sure if she didn’t draw that blood of her own volition I would’ve gone home and passed out because my hemoglobin was really low. She was my advocate and she was genuinely happy for me and my baby.

Stephanie, if you’re reading this, I want to thank you so much and say that I am beyond honored that you are on my son’s birth certificate as a witness. You are God’s angel.
