Erin is a very loving and caring nurse, which is very important when caring for our clients.
I have had the distinct pleasure of working with Erin at the same division of ChildServe for three years. For the last 18 months, I have worked with her on the same case, which has allowed me to see what an amazing nurse and person she is. Her professionalism and knowledge have taught me a lot. She is someone I turn to, if I have questions, and someone I look up to. I have been an RN for 40 years now and have learned so much from her. She is always available if I need to bounce something off her.
Erin and I share the case of a 16-year-old girl with special needs who has communication and mobility issues. Erin has shown an understanding of those issues even more than the special needs teacher she has worked with for the last three years. The client’s parents are very happy that Erin will be there to teach her high school special education teacher about her ways of communicating. Erin is a very loving and caring nurse, which is very important when caring for our clients. One can tell Erin thinks about what a 16-year-old girl would like and the needs of the family. She has taken the time to include in the client’s care things that a 16-year-old girl would like, such as manicures, facials, and massages. She has also instituted things like asking the client whether certain things can be felt and if so, does it feel good to her, and then communicating the things she is doing to me so I can continue the work. The client’s mom has gone out of her way to inform the client’s DHS case manager and our supervisor how much Erin has done for the care of her daughter.
Erin has also spent time using her organizational skills to help the client’s mom organize the client’s room and care areas in other parts of the house because the mom is a teacher who teaches two virtual classes in a virtual school. I know that all of our lives have been much improved by working with and knowing this incredible RN and person.
