Allison went above and beyond to make a patient’s day! An older gentleman came in for his procedure and Allison could sense that he was probably lonely and decided to spend extra time with him conversing and getting to know him. She told him that she was going to have to take him for pizza and a beer after work because he was just so sweet and kind. He asked her what kind of pizza she liked and she said sausage, mushroom, and black olives. His face lit up and he said that was his favorite too! After the patient came out from his procedure, he was asking about Allison and where she was. She surprised him after his procedure with his favorite pizza! She said she thought he could eat it over several days, but he ended up eating half of it in recovery! The patient later wrote a thank you note that he gave to his NP during a follow-up appointment – to say that she had an impact on him is an understatement!
