I had a needle biopsy at Prisma Parkridge Hospital. I was in the waiting area when a nurse came to get me. From the moment she called my name I knew this lady was SPECIAL. As she was preparing me for the procedure, she told me EVERY single thing that would happen. As an older mother and grandmother I knew that relaxation was the key. However, when the doctor started the procedure she must have noticed that I tensed up a bit and with my face covered I heard her soft voice and felt her warm hand holding mine. She did not stop her soft words telling me exactly what was happening and holding my hand! To me, this is the best definition of NURSE. She knew what I needed before I knew! She reacted to my every emotion before I did! The best part of this lady was her sense of humor. She was upbeat positive and just plain happy. We made a connection within the first 10 minutes I was there by just having small talk. It turned out that I knew where she grew up plus I knew her mother. I actually had directed the wedding of her nephew last year. There are just not enough words for this wonderful lady. I know I have made a friend for life and Prisma is blessed to have her in their family.
