She takes on new opportunities and tough challenges with a sense of urgency and enthusiasm while keeping patient/staff safety at the forefront of her decisions for the unit.
Tanya has been here at this facility with over 13 years of medical surgical experience. Tanya makes a difference each and every day that she comes to work. She has gained the confidence and trust of others through her honesty, integrity, authenticity, and commitment to nursing. Tanya takes the initiative to continue learning as things change daily. With that being said, she is able to adapt and approach, in real-time, the shifting demands of any given situation. Tanya can bring out the best in others to build an effective team. Tanya is the go-to person for all the nurses on all rotations. She takes on new opportunities and tough challenges with a sense of urgency and enthusiasm while keeping patient/staff safety at the forefront of her decisions for the unit. She can utilize the most effective and efficient process to get things done timely. She is always actively engaged in trying to find ways to improve processes for not just 9k SUB, but for the entire facility. Tanya has very effective communication skills. She collaborates with other interdisciplinary departments to meet the shared goals of the organization. She is one of the designated preceptors for our new nurses/new grads. Tanya welcomes everyone to the unit. When others are floated to the unit, she does what needs to be done to make sure they are oriented. That is her way of saying thank you for coming to help out, we are a team, and I am here for you. Tanya has been the charge nurse on 9k SUB for 7 years. Despite Tanya having her own 4-5, sometimes 6 patients, she does not hesitate for one minute to go to the bedside of another patient with any nurse. She assures the staff that they are a team and never alone. Tanya takes the lead in making sure that staff are always keeping the unit Joint Commission ready. The patients admire Tanya for the care that she delivers daily. She is recognized and named weekly in call-backs to discharges and she is recognized by her fellow peers in the weekly huddles. Tanya is the person that you can call on to take on the recovery process when a patient feels that we have not met their expectations. Tanya is not afraid to hold others accountable for the now 6 core values. She assures that all nurses are putting their patients first. She also strives to make sure that all staff are doing what they need to do during normal work hours, as well as after hours and weekends. She is always the voice of leadership without hesitation. She is extremely interpersonal savvy, as she relates openly and comfortably with a diverse group of people and exemplifies true inclusivity. There is no one specific incident because she goes above and beyond, making a huge impact on patients, visitors, and fellow peers each day.
