I was admitted to Wesley Long Hospital for gallbladder issues. I ended up having surgery and staying in the hospital for a few days due to my blood pressure issues. Yesterday during her shift I got some heartbreaking news. My dad had a very bad stroke and has blood clots in his heart. This news sent me into a panic attack. This nurse stayed on top of my treatment and showed compassion towards me that I haven't ever experienced from any other nurse. She encouraged me and helped me calm down some. When she realized the depth of my heartache, she asked if she could call someone for me. I requested to talk with the Chaplain. The Chaplain was in my room in less than 20 minutes. Once the Chaplain left, she continued to check on me every chance she got. Thanks to her caring and talking with me I have now decided to seek help during this difficult time in my life. Thank you for caring for me, your compassion toward me will always be remembered. My husband felt awful for not being here for me yesterday. He was so happy and relieved when I told him all you did for me. This world really needs more wonderful nurses like her.
