Lisa Birk is a dedicated manager to her team and work environment. She has been with the organization for 32 years. She has grown with the organization as a staff nurse, charge nurse, associate nurse manager, and now a manager. During her years here she went back to school and obtained her baccalaureate degree in nursing. Her professionalism and compassion for her employees and our patients shows through her leadership and guidance. She comes in with an energetic attitude in the morning and goes to each pod to say Good Morning and reads an inspirational quote to start off our day in an up-lifting manner. She is very resourceful and adaptive to our team environment. She is available to come out and assist her employees by working up patients, assisting in putting in an IV, or promoting patient quality of care. She advocates and listens to her team members and is determined to keep a safe and positive environment. She has an open-door policy which allows her employees to come to her whenever they need to discuss any matters or concerns. She is profoundly interested in developing her employees to become outstanding team members by encouraging them to further their education, by taking on new leadership roles, by becoming Certified in their position, and promotes higher learning for degrees that would promote the team member and our organization. She plans well and works diligently at being organized. She is receptive to new ideas and constantly looks at ways to promote patient advocacy and safety. She is a champion at acknowledging her employees for their hard work and celebrates her employees by nominating a person each month who has been recognized by Patients and or Staff members.
