That gesture and act of kindness and compassion and a light hand on the shoulder stopped me from spiraling. I am so very grateful.
I presented to the emergency room for kidney stones and rectal pain with a fever of 103+. On my second day in the hospital, I began to have a panic attack due to stress and being unsure of what was to come with my health. Kelly went the extra mile during my anxiety episode. She entered the room to switch my fluids and recognized my poor emotional state. She consoled me by acknowledging that my feelings were valid and that I was in good hands. She then exited and returned shortly with a hot tea with honey and lemon and said it helps her when she’s having similar feelings. That gesture and act of kindness and compassion and a light hand on the shoulder stopped me from spiraling. I am so very grateful. She was shocked when I asked for the nomination pamphlet, which only shows me that she wasn’t just doing her job well, but that she genuinely cares about her patients and listens. The level of empathy and security she provided restored my hope in the healthcare system which from my personal experience is flawed. If she is any indication of the level of professionalism and care offered by this facility, then this hospital is outstanding. Thank you very much Kelly. I appreciate all that you do.
