I recently delivered my first baby at Froedtert and was blessed to have Monica Thompson as my nurse. Monica is beyond deserving of recognition, as she is an extremely extraordinary nurse. Monica displayed high level of professionalism at the bedside and made myself and my partner feel so comfortable during a time in our lives we were extremely vulnerable. Monica stood at my bedside and helped calm my nerves during my epidural placement, she held a bucket while I was sick to my stomach, washed my face, emotionally comforted me, and so much more- all while monitoring my baby during the labor process!

We were lucky enough to have Monica there for delivery, she helped me push for nearly three hours without leaving my side once. After the delivery, our daughter needed a little oxygen and during those scary few minutes, she stood right by my side reassuring and comforting me. As I write this, it brings tears to my eyes reflecting on our special time with Monica. She will forever have a special place in our hearts. Froedtert is blessed with such an amazing nurse.

Monica is also my co-worker. I am a RN on Labor and Delivery at Froedtert. Being on the patient side of the curtain with my coworker caring for me was such a unique experience. Monica is an amazing coworker and nurse. She is an advocate for her patients, ensuring they receive the best possible care. She displays teamwork, hard work, and dedication to the unit. Thank you, Monica, for being so selfless and compassionate to the patients and the nursing profession is proud to have you.
