I have many friends who are smart, compassionate and capable but if I had to choose anyone in this world to take care of the love of my life is Karen.
From the moment we arrived at Ochsner we have had nothing but a pleasant experience. Everyone has gone above and beyond for my fiancé who was diagnosed with Gillian Barre-Syndrome. But there is one person who stands out even amongst an already phenomenal staff, that woman is Karen. From the first night she had him she has taken care of anything he wants or needs. I know that hasn’t been easy as he is not able to communicate well. He adores her. He calls her mama. It’s fitting because you can tell she cares for him as she would her own child. Our journey with this has not been easy. It’s hard for me to sleep without him. It’s hard to be away from him while he’s enduring this. When Karen is with him I can sleep. I have an overwhelming peace knowing that she has him completely taken care of. She has been our gift from God. I've worked in several hospitals over the last few years. I have many friends who are smart, compassionate and capable but if I had to choose anyone in this world to take care of the love of my life is Karen. Two weeks ago we were strangers and now she is a part of our family. She has worked tirelessly every night she has been with S. We are forever thankful for all the doctors and resources Ochsner has but she has been our biggest blessing by far.
