Leslie is one of the only nurses on West 11 who slows down and listens to the patient. She has an abundance of patience. She goes the extra mile by making my child feel cared for by combing her terribly matted hair and braiding it beautifully. Leslie never gets angry or frustrated (and if she does, she does not show it). She is kind! Also, she is one of a few nurses who does a proper head-to-toe assessment every time she sees my child. She is known to kneel by the bedside to talk at eye level with my child. Leslie checks on my child at least hourly and almost always bi-hourly even when she is caring for 3 other busy patients. She makes a point of checking in which eliminates the long waits for alarms to be silenced/corrected. Leslie always shows up with a positive attitude and a desire to be of service. Our family is always thrilled to have Leslie as a nurse. We feel comfortable stepping out of the room when Leslie is there because we know our child is safe with her and getting top-quality care. Leslie is the ideal nurse and should be the model for standard of excellence. Thank you for your hard work and time!
