She is our biggest cheerleader and finds opportunities to engage in both growth and gain for our hospital. She leads with a passion and purpose for evidence-based practice.
Anne-Gret came to MCMC prior to the submission of Magnet and was tasked to rewrite many of the stories that were submitted for Magnet. With a very short timeline, she was able to complete this huge task and submit the documents within the timeframe needed. In preparation for the Magnet Survey, she developed a plan to educate many of the staff in all departments on what to expect during the Magnet survey. She developed the Magnet Champion team of nurses, assisted them in creating a Magnet Informational Cart, and assisted them in taking the Magnet cart to all areas of the hospital to educate our nurses on Magnet. By the time the Magnet survey occurred, the Magnet Champions were ready to assist in the survey and the bedside staff was well versed on Magnet. Because of her planning, her vast knowledge of Magnet, and the education she provided to the staff, our Magnet Survey was very successful and we passed with zero deficiencies and several exemplars.

As a leader myself, I have learned so much about Magnet and am always thinking about future stories for our next Magnet survey. She has also led and continues to grow our nursing councils. She has been able to build relationships with nurses in all areas of MCMC and has become a trusted leader the staff can depend on. She is always available to attend unit-based council meetings and has great plans for the UBC chairs. She has assisted with several of the research studies at MCMC and has done the work on obtaining the IRB approval for these studies which is tedious and time-consuming work.

The list is endless of the accomplishments she has achieved here at MCMC. As busy as she is, she takes time to know each of her colleague’s birthdays and to celebrate each one in a special way. It would be such a great honor to recognize her as a DAISY Nurse Leader.

She has a passion for Magnet and she works diligently to make sure that we are all supported. She challenges staff to become certified and celebrates and supports every staff member in gaining certifications. She makes sure all leaders have a place in her office to talk about challenges, opportunities and ideas to better Methodist Charlton and she genuinely cares about the staff's wellbeing. Her servant heart for others is so present and every opportunity she has to celebrate and appreciate staff, patients, and the community, she takes advantage of. she is invested and engaged in councils and helps guide staff and leaders to put practice improvements in place that will help make MCMC the best hospital. She is our biggest cheerleader and finds opportunities to engage in both growth and gain for our hospital. She leads with a passion and purpose for evidence-based practice. She is innovative and supports staff to bring ideas to the unit-based councils and practice councils for process improvements. She is constantly making sure that all areas are engaged, involved, and celebrated. MCMC is so thankful for her. She represents Methodist Cares Commitments so well and always strives to make sure we are meeting our quality metrics, story submissions, community engagement events, and celebrating our staff so well.

We are truly thankful for her as she has worked so hard in making sure our submission and (virtual) site visit went perfectly. She truly shines bright for Methodist and we are so thankful for her.

Anne-Gret has worked so diligently these past months to ensure MCMC not only achieves Magnet status but that the nurses continue to grow and learn new practice initiatives to better serve our patients. Her attention to detail made a very strong point for all Magnet-related activities. The staff has warmed well to her charismatic demeanor because of her passion and drive for others to thrive. She is a vision of nursing that many would want to work to achieve, with high regard and expectations. She is truly a blessing to the nursing profession, to the nurses in her care, and to this nurse especially. I appreciate above all else the ability to go to her for anything and she is always a listening ear with objective input to better care for not only nursing staff, but overall Methodist. She is truly deserving, and I sure appreciate her for all she does.

This leader has had a very busy time since her employment with MCMC. One thing for sure is evident with all that she had accomplished since she's been with us, we needed her. We needed this leader to be with us these past two years during the pandemic. This leader supported other leaders to sustain our efforts to lead and support our bedside team. She brought in a multitude of initiatives to put our campus on the map of achieving one of the biggest achievements that we could only dream of. Achieving Magnet status. She supports our bedside nurses and leaders.
