Stephanie is the one and only nurse of the program and still manages to make each carrying parent feel like her only patient out of hundreds. It is a unique job that not many people know exists in the hospital. Though the carrying parent is our patient on paper, the fetus (he/she/they) carry is whom we focus on mostly. She goes above and beyond to make sure each patient is cared for, carrying parent and fetus, but also the carrying parent’s mental health. Her care doesn’t just stop in the clinic, she ensures our team and the OB/GYN teams and Maternal Fetal Specialists in the region are on the same page as well as ensuring high-risk patients are all set with their delivery hospital, delivery plan, and the transport teams are ready to receive. She even attends deliveries next door for specialty nursing support and acts as a familiar face for families going through a stressful delivery. It's an incredibly hard job for one person to manage and she does it with a smile and all the compassion in the world. She has a great team behind her, but she is truly the glue that keeps the program going and growing.
