Justin, during his mental health rotation, made a connection with a young male patient with a history of aggression. Over several weeks Justin got to know the client and found ways to distract and engage the client. He found a way to get the client to open up and develop trust with him. He organized activities with other clients and members of his clinical group to include the client. He did this over the course of the rotation, even when the client wasn't his assigned patient that week. He provided the client with great education about his medications and also helped to decrease the client's anxiety around discharge. He made a big impact on this client during his time on the behavioral health unit. He has great communication and assessment skills. His care plans showed that he really got to know his clients and individualized their care.
