We were told that our daddy had days to live, and he was placed on comfort measures. Upon the arrival of my siblings and me, he was in distress. Alexandria Gibson came into the room and at first glance knew he was not comfortable. Alex worked diligently to get him comfortable. When Alex realized that nothing had been effective, she contacted the on-call NP. Within an hour Alex was setting up the PCA. Not only that but she also taught M how to use and set up the PCA. Alex has been a blessing to us and our daddy. Without her, he would have continued to suffer. Not only did Alex take care of our daddy, but she also made sure that she listened to our concerns. She took the time to explain everything to his wife. Alex has repeatedly asked if we need anything. She has been our light and truly is a steward of Christ. Her devotion to her patient is immeasurable. Her compassion for others is so very evident. Alex truly has a heart for nursing. She even asked the chaplain to check in on us. It is worthy to note that it is not easy to care for the loved one of anyone in the medical field. Alex did so with grace.
