Received a call from Dr. H regarding the exemplary performance of Sam Cavazos. He shared that he does not typically make calls like this, but felt that Sam deserved accolades for her response to an urgent patient transport need. He noted that her response was outstanding and far superior to that of all other nurses he has encountered in similar situations throughout his long career. The following is a synopsis of the situation. 

The patient post-Cath lab required urgent transport to UOC. Sam responded to this in an outstanding manner. She was calm, not frazzled, and went above and beyond in her efforts to ensure that everything was in order. The films component of these transfers is always a challenge as nurses tend to struggle with understanding what is needed. Sam went to great lengths to ensure this was accurately completed. She personally looked at the images, facetimed with the transferring provider, and even went to the extent of communicating with the receiving provider on this. Her efforts were impressive, much appreciated, and contributed to a seamless transition of care.
