Shanella has gone above and beyond for not only me but my family as well. I have been in and out of hospitals over the course of several years. Shanella has changed my perspective on nursing as a whole. She truly showed the utmost compassion for me during one of the most vulnerable times in my life. She was my daisy in a field of roses.

There were several things that she did that makes her so deserving of this recognition, but the thing that stood out the most was when she brought me a slice of cake. I had mentioned to her that a slice of cake would make me feel better and the next day she showed up with not only a piece of cake but my favorite kind – coconut.

This act alone makes her deserving of this recognition. I have had many nurses care for me over the years but no one holds a candle to Shanella. Her personality and demeanor were my saving grace. I always looked forward to seeing her come into my room. Thank you, Shanella, for everything!
