Sandy went above and beyond for these two patients and I was so proud to be working with her that day.
The most recent example I have of what a wonderful nurse Sandy is happened a few weeks ago. Sandy is one of two nurses who support the Adams Clinic which is a stand-alone clinic. On this particular Friday, she had a scheduled patient come in for labs and she immediately noticed that she was very jaundiced. Prior to getting any labs, she asked that I come to look at her, being an RN working remotely there that day. It was very obvious the patient was probably the most jaundiced patient I had ever seen. We immediately contacted the provider and worked to get additional labs ordered and update the provider. During this process it was noted that she had not been scheduled for some important testing- so we worked together to get this scheduled. During this same time, she had another patient in the clinic getting a blood pressure check who reported "feeling funny at times" She noted his heart rate was a little lower and she contacted his cardiologist and was able to get orders to check an ECG. Sandy went above and beyond for these two patients and I was so proud to be working with her that day. It was a busy morning but knowing she did everything she could for these two patients was so rewarding. Sandy is such a kind and caring nurse who addressed the patient's needs even if this puts her behind. I have always loved working with her. We are lucky to have such a great nurse on our team.
