I met Tara in December 2021. I came into the Labor and Delivery unit after having pain and bleeding at 20 weeks pregnant. We, unfortunately, lost our baby, but I was so fortunate to have Tara on my care team. Tara was such a comfort throughout this tragic experience. She took care of me, explained everything to me, and offered so much support and care. She spoke so kindly of our baby and went over every part of him and she also put together the most beautiful memory box. She hugged me before I headed down to my surgery, and at that moment she gave me the strength I needed to carry on. What my husband and I have gone through these past two months I would never wish on anyone, but if someone is tragically placed in this position, I can only hope they are blessed enough to have someone as wonderful as Tara to support, care for, and comfort them. My grandmother was a nurse, and my mom currently is; I know firsthand how much nurses give and how special they are, but I never fully experienced it, as a patient, until that day. It is a day I will always remember, and Tara will always be in my heart for the gift of compassion and kindness she gave to me that day.
