Maura goes above and beyond for the patients and their families at Bayfront. Today I had a patient that received a brain death diagnosis. Maura stepped in to comfort the family and spend time with the patient’s school-aged daughter for greater than an hour talking with her. This allowed life link and the medical doctors to talk with the patient spouse. Maura did all of this without asking. She made a real difference in this family’s hospital experience and deserves to be recognized for it.

Maura was faced with taking care of the young daughter of a life link patient while her parents discussed the outcome and prognosis. Maura had an extreme dedication to the well-being of the young child and went above and beyond to ensure her comfort and create a positive environment. She is the definition of a DAISY Nurse.

Maura was exemplary today with a patient’s daughter. She cared for this patient’s daughter like her own family while her father discussed end-of-life plans with life link. Her compassion blew me away. Maura exhibited exemplary practice today that had a great positive impact on the family and healthcare team. I hope that she knows how respected and amazing they are. I admire such passion for patient care. What an amazing example of going above and beyond.
