My 52-year-old brother, who has been paralyzed since he was 17 years old, contracted the Covid-19 virus and was admitted to Bayshore.  During his 9-week stay, he experienced many setbacks.  Hannah and Steven were his nurses during part of his stay.  They are two of the most caring, knowledgeable, and positive nurses we have experienced in over 35 years.  They are both attentive, listened to my brother's concerns and questions, and took the time to explain symptoms and medications with a positive and comforting attitude.  When my brother's foley blocked, they immediately contacted his physician for consent to change and acted swiftly as a team to ensure he experienced minimal discomfort.  It is such a pleasure to see nurses that enjoy and are committed to their craft and are 100% there for their patients and that are willing and able to work as a team.  For these reasons, I would like to nominate Hannah VanCleve and Steven Horakh for the DAISY Award.  They have raised the bar on what it means to be a nurse!
