Rose is respectful to all her colleagues and brings her positive attitude to work each and every day- even the most challenging of days!
I nominate Rose Okamoto, a classified staff RN, as a deserving recipient of the DAISY Award. This RN exemplifies the kind of nurse that the patients & families, as well as the Nurses, Physicians, and other members of the Interdisciplinary team recognize as an outstanding role model. The following is an example of her patient care, highlighting the care and compassion she provides every day. Rose is very caring and kind to both her patients as well as her colleagues. She spends time with her patients connecting and getting to know them and their families. She cares for each patient with compassion and respect, even the most challenging patients. I have never heard her complain about an assignment. As a Critical Care Nurse, she can manage the most acutely ill patients in SCU. As a Preceptor, Rose is very patient with orientees, taking the time they need and never making them feel rushed or unintelligent. She is quiet but a great resource. As Charge Nurse, she is calm even in the most stressful situation. The Charge Nurse role has pulled her out of her shell, and she has really grown into this role. She appropriately reaches out to her resources when she does not know the answer and sets a calm and controlled tone for the Unit. Rose is respectful to all her colleagues and brings her positive attitude to work each and every day- even the most challenging of days! Rose is an absolute pleasure to have as a colleague, and she deserves the DAISY Award.
