Katie has been phenomenal in providing care to my mother, who has been very sick with intubation. Needless to say, there's been very strong emotions and concerns from her family members, who care deeply for her healthcare, safety, and well-being. Katie worked tirelessly to provide the best health care. She made our mom as comfortable as possible and she provided her care with cleanliness. The small details that matter in the midst of the Covid world we are living in today. She also made sure several times a day that she cleaned her mouth and brushed her teeth, again the small details that matter as a part of her personal hygiene and medical care. Aside from the personal care, Katie had the ability to listen and understand that we, the family of the patient, had genuine concerns for our mother.

Katie could sense that we needed reassuring and moved with care and compassion. She also spoke to our mother as a very empathetic care giver. Advising her of the importance of the care she was to get her from the critical stage she was in. She also acknowledged the family's concern of our mom coming off of the ventilator, and reassured us it was a weaning period to do it safely because it was a critical zone if they removed it too fast. But, she kept us informed of her and the staff's plans to extubate our mother. Which she did when it was safe enough. We as the family could breathe a sigh of relief.
