Morgan is a nurse who comes in on her day off to help others and she dedicates so much of her time to helping patients in every specialty.
Working with Morgan is one of the greatest privileges as an OR employee. She demonstrates compassion, ambition, and determination, she strives for excellence, she is knowledgeable about her career and continues to meet every goal she sets for herself. She inspires me to become a better employee each and every day. Not only is she one of the hardest working nurses on staff, but she is also the resource nurse for not one, but two specialties (NICU and IR). She has played a huge part in getting the Interventional Radiology suite up and running.
IR was projected to only do 50 cases per year but we surpassed that number within months. Morgan has kept it running smooth and committed so much of her time to make sure the doctors and patients have what they need to have a successful surgery. She has organized the surgical core, created surgical preference cards that help guide fellow employees in cases that they aren’t quite familiar with, and always has answers to the questions we ask. She keeps the NICU operating room organized and makes sure all of the equipment is up to date and working for the doctors.
Not only are other nurses, scrubs, and CRNAs thankful for her, but so are the physicians. Doctors are immediately relieved when they walk into surgery and see that Morgan is their circulator. Morgan is a nurse who comes in on her day off to help others and she dedicates so much of her time to helping patients in every specialty. She is an essential part of the Woman’s team and the operating would not run as smoothly without her. I nominated her for the DAISY Award because of her eagerness to take care of patients, her love for Woman’s Hospital, and her efforts to make the operating room a better place for patients to come and know they’re getting the best care possible.
