Where do I begin? Our son L was born at 23 weeks and 3 days. We've been in the NICU for almost 6 months now. Alyssa was one of the first nurses to take care of him and takes care of him almost every time she is working. L has had many issues. He had a bowel rupture PDA closure needs for multiple blood transfusions list goes on... Let's just say he has been a complicated patient from birth. Alyssa never once acted overwhelmed or seemed stressed at anything thrown her way. Alyssa has been absolutely amazing! You can tell she treats L as more than just another patient. You can tell she truly cares about him and his health. She's one of the nurses that when we hear or know she's working that day we actually get excited and feel at peace. WHY? Because we know L is going to get the best care. That's why we requested for her to be a primary nurse for our son. Even on the days when she isn't his nurse she always makes a point to stop by and see L. THAT SHOWS SHE CARES! She has become like family to us. When we had/have really rough days and things didn't look good Alyssa was always there to be a stronghold and comfort to us. She would also comfort us and encourage us by checking on us often to make sure we are okay. Alyssa is more than a nurse, she's THE NURSE that everyone should have taking care of their child.
